Energy Recovery Inc. is helping to make seawater desalination affordable. The PX Pressure Exchanger^® (PX^®) energy recovery device, which is designed and manufactured by ERI, can improve the energy efficiency of seawater desalination by up to 60%. These devices are saving an estimated 550 MW of energy and reducing carbon dioxide production by about 1.6 million tons per year. Over 6,000 PX devices have been shipped to more than 80 OEMs worldwide and are supporting the production of drinking water for about 17 million people.
