Iran and China are planning to sign a cooperation deal by 20 March 2011 to construct the Bakhtiari Dam in Iran.
Bakhtiari Dam will be an arched dam on the Bakhtiari River within the Zagros Mountains in south-west Iran, with the capacity to hold 4.8 billion cubic metres of water.
The dam is expected to help Iran in controlling and managing a growing water shortage across the country, according to Iran Daily.
Chinese investors have already agreed to participate in the construction of the Haraz Dam, which is to be constructed on the Haraz River with a water storage capacity of 390 million cubic metres.
